I've been in the sewing business since 1993, and have been sewing
personally for owner 40 years. It all started at the age of eight when I
started sewing clothes for my dolls. By age twelve I was sewing clothes
for myself which continued through college since I didn’t have the money
to buy store bought clothes. Around that same time I discovered garage
sales and started acquiring clothes that may not have fit perfectly and
then altering them to fit. Later on I got a job at an alterations
shop and learned a lot about professionally altering clothes. Then in 2009
I opened Seams Like New which I operated out of my home in rural Prescott
until Aug 2013 when I moved the business to its current location at 720
Saint Croix St. in Prescott. I love sewing and especially repairing
clothes to look like new. Its very rewarding to make something look good
again, and I love the challenge. I have been a member of the Prescott
Chamber of Commerce since I opened my business. Its a great organization
to be a part of.
